Sheila Nash

Sheila is an experienced educator and leader with over 30 years of service in a variety of public schools in Alberta. She has served as a leader in Edmonton Public Schools in the roles of principal, assistant principal, consultant, and district leader on committees and working groups as well as a Board member for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities. With extensive experience as an educator and leader at 7 different schools at the elementary level in Edmonton and Fort Vermilion, Alberta, Sheila has worked with a variety of communities that have diverse multicultural and socioeconomic profiles.

Sheila’s belief in life long learning is reflected by her earning a Bachelor of Education degree, an Early Childhood Graduate Diploma with honours and on-going professional leadership training and development. She has been recognized for her excellence in teaching and administration as the district recipient of the Alberta Edwin Parr Award for first year teaching and as nominee on 3 separate occasions for the Alberta Excellence in Teaching Award. Known as an empowering and dedicated leader, she consistently demonstrates a passion for teaching, learning and public education. Sheila’s expertise is particularly strong in developing shared leadership, facilitating and developing leadership capacity, building school culture, fostering collaboration among staff, students and community and meeting the needs of very diverse communities.
