Karen started her teaching career in 1995 in Australia, where she worked in early childhood settings. She brought her tremendous understanding of how young children best learn to École James S. McCormick School in Lacombe, AB, which is a school of 550 children from pre-kindergarten to grade three. Colleagues took notice of Karen’s instructional style, and over time her influence around the school grew. Karen now works as the inclusion coach at ÉJSMS helping teachers build capacity for meeting the needs of students in their classrooms. The CRM meetings provide a natural next step in capacity building with teaching teams.
